ISSUE 10 - Arteworld: In conversation with TVN

TVN is a London-based creative using Instagram as a space to blend art, football culture, and personal storytelling.

Background & Approach

How did you get started, and what led you to build the creative identity?

"I have been drawing ever since I was young, and growing up I loved watching football and WWE. Amongst other things, those were the two that I was super interested in. Art then became a place where I could show my love for those worlds, with the emotions I never used to speak about.

Over time, each artwork didn’t just become a picture, but also has a story behind it. Painting on canvas became a way to document memories from when I was a kid growing up in London, and the moments that shaped me."

Growing up or working in London: how has the city influenced your aesthetic or approach?

"Growing up in London, you get to see so many different sides to different parts of London wherever you go. This city has taught me to mix worlds unapologetically and to make art that feels like an honest reflection of growing up here."

Creative Practice

How would you describe the core values or principles behind your work and brand identity?

"Being authentic. Nostalgia, and storytelling. Everything I make needs to feel honest, whether it’s about childhood memories, football narratives, or identity.

My brand is built on elevating moments people overlook and turning them into something that lasts. It’s really allowed me to connect with people genuinely, and slowly create a community."

How do you decide which collaborations or brand partnerships align with your personal vision?

"Ultimately, if there is a strong storytelling aspect, and they align with me both personally as well as professionally, then that creates a partnership that will last. I don’t mind doing artworks that are “cool” and for the moment, but I’m here for the long run"

Community & Impact

Does your work carry a message or intention beyond aesthetics—such as social, cultural or identity themes?

"My work always carries identity at the core. Being a brown kid in London for one shaped my perspective, and I put that into the portraits, the football moments, the family-inspired pieces.

It’s about showing people the emotional depth behind the way I’ve grown up, and documenting experiences that rarely get platformed in fine art."

What do you hope people feel or think when they see your work — what impact do you aim for??

"I want people to feel seen. Whether it’s a football fan reminiscing about a moment or someone connecting to the story of my mum or dad, everything about how they feel, how they’ve grown up and what matters to them, matters."

Future Direction & Advice

How has your vision evolved in recent years — in terms of your brand, medium, style or ambition?

"I used to want to make sick artwork. And I still do, but now there is more to it - building a world.

Creating a series that feels cinematic. Having exhibitions, books, collaborations with institutions that align with me long-term"

Looking ahead 3-5 years: what do you hope TVN will have achieved or become?

"I want TVN to be recognised as an artist that has redefined how sport, culture and storytelling can coexist.

I see myself having a published body of work and a stronger studio practice. A big thing for me is to create a community that I have been allowed to connect with through my art.

Career-wise, I want to be operating at a level where brands, clubs, and creatives can come to for the emotional element I bring. That is the lane I am carving for myself."
